Exotic Courtyard Garden in Bexley

The clients wanted a vibrant garden to be viewed from the house and the terrace.

New borders are designed in the terrace to break up the large area while still leaving room for a table seating ten. Tall hardy plants, like bamboos and cordyline, soften the rendered house walls, while evergreen exotics soften the brick retaining walls.

Two sets of steps lead to the main garden which is planted with shrubs and perennials to give all year colour and interest. Trellis and wires help climbing plants disguise the boundary fences. The turf is replaced with artificial lawn so the boys can play sport all year.

The side alley is transformed with a pergola and shade tolerant plants in a gravel path. A shady retreat from the sunny terrace or a spot to play boules.
