Garden in North London
|
The clients wanted an attractive, child friendly garden with sun and shade terraces and safe access to the rear garage. The shady house terrace is paved with a pale riven sandstone, to give ample space for dining table and chairs. The garden is retained with a hardwood sleeper wall, which also acts as informal seating. Sandstone steps lead up into the garden, with stepping stones leading through the lawn to the rear of the garden. The borders are planted with shade tolerant shrubs and perennials to give colour and fragrance through the year. The sun deck is at the same level at the rear garage and built around an existing fig tree. A sandstone path leads from the garage and deck to the semi circular lawn. A sloping hardwood wall follows the semi circle and retains the raised border and existing pond. The deck border is planted with sun loving grasses and perennials to give a diaphanous screen.
