Rear Garden in London

The clients wanted to maximise the area in this odd shaped rear garden, to give the feeling of open space.

The sandstone terrace is sited next to the house, with the edge detailed in granite cobbles and leading to the shady summerhouse. The narrow borders are planted with standard photinias to disguise the fences and give privacy. The photinias are under planted with shrubs and perennials to give seasonal colour and fragrance.

The narrow borders allow for a large lawn edged with sandstone paths detailed with granite cobbles. The path runs adjacent to the garage, planted with ivy, to a sunken terrace edged with box hedges and climbing shrubs.
