The clients wanted a garden which could be used for entertaining, from dining with four to partying with 30, but should be full of colour and encourage wildlife.
A hardwood table and chairs are located on the decked terrace midst containers filled with seasonal colour and fragrance. Views are of the wildlife pond, with pebble beach to encourage frogs and toads, and the naturalistic planting. The side borders are planted with shrubs and perennials to give all year colour and interest, while the central border contains grasses and tall perennials to give movement. The gazebo is hidden amongst the plants to give a tranquil, shady retreat.
Large parties spill out from the terrace onto the gravel area and circular lawn, and into the decked herb garden down the side of the house.
