The house is located in a private estate and is surrounded by mature hedging and trees. The clients wanted an attractive, low maintenance front garden which could survive the dry shade.
The trees and hedges were pruned to allow more light into the shady garden. The lawn under the trees was removed and the reduced lawn shaped into a circular theme. The widened borders were planted with a backbone of evergreen shrubs interspersed with seasonal colour.
Wrought iron trellis was designed for either side of the bay window and planted with wisteria. Climbing shrubs were sited against the house to soften the brickwork.
